01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

A proper Cuban sandwich depends on heat and pressure, flattening the bread until the crust turns crisp and golden. Tucked into an alleyway in Nihonbashi Kayabacho, CUBANO CUBANO builds its flagship Cubano around mojo-marinated pork slow-roasted until tender, layered with ham, cheese, pickles, and mustard before heading into the sandwich press. The crackling bite of the toasted bread yields to rich meat, melted cheese, and the sharp tang of pickles for a deeply satisfying mouthful.

Portions come in a regular size suitable for an everyday lunch, as well as a longer size for hearty appetites. Alongside the classic pork, the shop caters to heat seekers with spicy selections such as its house chicken sandwich and the Kayabacho Midnight.

Freshly fried sides are available to round out a set meal. Alongside piping-hot onion rings and seasoned french fries, the menu features jalapeño poppers stuffed with cheese, offering a punch of spice and rich creaminess that balances the meal.

Orders are placed at the 1F counter, after which customers can take their food to go or head up to the snug 2F counter to eat their sandwiches fresh from the press. Paired with coffee, a soft drink, or a cold beer, it makes for a straightforward, hot meal on the go or during a midday break.
